October 2001. We seriously, seriously loved the Like-a-Bike. Such a simple idea – a wooden ‘scootalong’ bike with giant rubber O-rings for tyres – but a much easier, safer way for children to learn to ride without wobble and pressure. You get the balance sorted, then add pedals a bit later. And boy did it roll fast! The Yamaha we were never so sure about, and this luxury derivative even more so than the standard model. The Xootr was a lethal weapon, but well-made
