A to B 24: S-Drive Dawes, S P Brompton

£0.99

One of our older issues from 2001. Still in black and white (we took the photos in monochrome to save memory in those days!), but full of fascinating stuff. Very readable and useful if you’re buying any of these products second-hand

Description

a-to-b-24In A to B issue 24:

* S-Drive Dawes:
A TO B APPROVED
At the time, this electric drive went a very very long way on a charge. It was damn good, if a little expensive and slow, but years ahead of its time

* Bikit (bicycle power-assist kit)
A TO B FAIL
Heath Robinson would have loved it. Two contra-rotating grippy rollers grasp the tyre and add a bit of oomph.

*
S P Brompton
A TO B APPROVED

PLUS:
*
Brompton Child-seat

We had a two-year-old at the time and this device was spot-on for the train and even the odd bus journey. We loved it, but in the end the youngster outgrew it

*
Building the Strida

A fascinating insight into the design, construction and marketing of the Strida, when it could still claim to be a British product through and through…
