Castle Cary
Railway Station

Routes to the station by BICYCLE

ACCESS: Castle Cary station is easily and safely accessible by bicycle, although the final short stretch on the A371 must be treated with caution. From the town, the pedestrian route is more pleasant, but involves a kissing gate at the station, making it difficult for bicycles. Sustrans Route 26 passes the station en route from Dorchester to Wells and Clevedon, also offering an excellent short-cut to the Glastonbury Festival site, bypassing busy roads and traffic queues. For the festival, turn right out of the station, left onto the minor road through Alhampton and Ditcheat, cross the A37 and take the next right up the hill. This will bring you to the back of the festival site. Other quiet roads link Castle Cary station to Bruton, North Dorset and the Somerset levels
